Planet Conscious

Business as a force for good. Protect our playground, protect what we love.

Sustainability & Ethics

At Vivida, we believe in using business as a force for good, and when it comes to sustainability, we believe we can always do better - for our planet, for our future, and for the greater good.

Inspired by our awe of the Earth, it’s place in the universe, its interconnectivity and vast beauty, one of the founding values of the Vivida Lifestyle is to promote connection to and appreciation for nature. Because of that, we believe it’s our shared responsibility to protect what we love. In a time of personal and environmental crisis, a closer relationship with nature and water improves wellbeing and inspires guardianship. As such, we consider it our duty to invest time and resources into ensuring our products cause the least amount of harm to our planet and to the animal kingdom.

Since 2017 we’ve committed ourselves to learning new and eco-friendly ways of developing and manufacturing products, hoping to serve as good stewards in the industry, setting a positive example, and inspiring others to take action. As we evolve, so too will our commitments and scope of our positive impact agenda. We remain dedicated to careful research and due diligence to ensure that fibres, processes, ethical concerns, and sustainability remain at the forefront.

We hope you enjoy the journey with us.

Inspiring a connection to nature, our fragile home planet and all that is bigger than ourselves.

Our Intiatives

We challenge the status quo of the fashion industry’s ‘waste and replace’ attitude by always making products that are built to last, have timeless appeal and designed to have as little impact on the planet as possible. Our philosophy is to buy less, buy better. Our product range is narrow and versatile, so we can focus on making the best product possible.

The materials we use in our products and packaging are certified organic, biodegradable or recycled wherever possible, and have been since 2017. Wherever we've not achieved a sustainable solution, we're working towards one. We recently introduced water-soluble packaging that leaves no trace - Eco Friendly Hydropol (TM) degrades naturally after 12 months, leaving behind only carbon dioxide, oxygen and mineralised biomass.

Our Imperfect Collection lets customers purchase items that don't meet our strict quality standards but are perfectly useable. This gives customers a great price option and reduces waste. Other companies would typically send these items to landfill. Our pre-order system also helps prevent waste & misestimations. Textile overproduction is a huge problem in the fashion industry.

We encourage post-purchase responsible practices with the Guppyfriend laundry bag. This item decreases the microplastics contributed to waterways when machine washing clothes.

We have established ethical & conscious manufacturing across Portugal, India, Cambodia and China. We're proud to say we have close, friendly and long-term win-win relationships with our manufacturing partners, built on trust.

98% of Vivida stock is imported via sea and road freight. Our manufacturing partners also minimise energy and water usage, making use of rainwater and renewable energy.

Vivida Lifestyle is a proud member of The United Nation Fashion Industry Charter for Climate Action. In 2019, we signed on as participants of their Fashion for Climate Action Charter. We are actively involved in the working group to contribute, learn, and make essential changes in the industry for the sake of our planet and to be a model for other businesses both big and small.
